As the title suggest, this article covers most of activities we should be doing for website promotion whether we are working as an employee for its promotion or it's our own website. All website promotion strategies will be shared below whether they are related to on-page optimization or off-page optimization.

Making Contents Search Engine Friendly
First of all we should be making our website content search engine friendly be using proper URL's, Titles, Meta tags etc for them. We should make sure that our website contents are well formatted and well interlinked. And when adding contents on our website, we should make sure that they are unique and does not contain duplicate contents. And if there is comments facility on our website, we should be making sure that only quality comments get published on our website and if there are comments asking for some feedback from us, we should be replying them in a positive manner.

Creating Blogs
We should be creating blogs on popular blogging platforms like Blogger, WordPress, Thoughts.com, Tumblr etc. We should be creating blogs on these platforms as per the kind of keywords we are targeted on our websites. And we should update them with fresh and unique content related to your website niche regularly.

Being Active on Discussion Forums
We can get some quality backlinks for our website by working as an expert in discussion forums related to our website niche. Suppose, I have a SEO services related website, so the discussion forums like DP forum, Sitepoint, WebProworld, V7N, SEO Chat etc will be the discussion communities to target.

Dofollow Blog Commenting
We can get some quality backlinks for our website by leaving informative comments on dofollow blogs. So what we should be doing is create a list of blogs related to our website topics and start contributing on those blogs with link back to our websites in the comments section.

Article Publishing
We should create some articles covering keywords that we are targeting via our website and submit them on article publishing websites.

Directory Submissions
Web trend has changed a lot since panda update from Google. Now more focus is on providing quality than quantity. And the same thing applied to web directories. We should be submitting our website in to most popular high PR, region specific and topic specific directories only.

Links from Wikihow
If we are good in creating how to manuals around certain topics related to our website niche, should submit them into Wikihow, work.com and eHow kind of websites that accepts how to manuals. We can build a regular traffic and backlinking stream for our website via such links.

Social Bookmarking Submissions
We can submit some of interesting contents from our website on popular social bookmarking websites for better content indexing, keyword rankings, page rank and website branding. My favorite social bookmarking websites are Digg, StumbleUpon. Delicious, Reddit.
